Need a school year theme?

I shared with you that on May 6, 2020 the United States Department of Education released its Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.  Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities which receive federal financial assistance.  The final rule is law effective August 14, 2020.  You can find that post here.

Often school principals use school year themes to help promote their mission of educating students.

If you haven’t chosen a theme for the upcoming school year, why not consider having a school year theme regarding a topic related to Title IX?

If your school district must comply with Title IX, perhaps choosing a school year theme such as diversity or respect could help promote the training and information you provide your staff and students regarding Title IX and sex discrimination.
